Our Story

Lise Lteif and Michael Koutsomitopoulos are both born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. In 2016, a night that was supposed to be celebrating Thanksgiving in town with some friends turned into something unexpected — they met at a bar in Gatineau. They spent the whole night talking on the rooftop, laughing, and getting to know each other. They quickly discovered how much they had in common, from a shared love of travelling and music to their outlook on life.

Lise and Michael were friends for eight months until June 27, 2017, when Michael asked Lise to be his girlfriend. Later that summer, they took their first trip together to California with Lise’s sisters, and that adventure made it clear that they were building something special. A year later, they visited Michael’s homeland, Greece, and instantly fell in love with it — the food, the culture, and the music became part of their story.

Over the years, they returned to Greece again and again — in 2018, 2022, and 2023 — always finding new reasons to fall in love with the country and with each other. Then, in July 2025, as they planned yet another trip to Europe, Michael had something even more meaningful in store. On July 14th, 2025, in beautiful Greece, he proposed on a rooftop hotel overlooking the city.

Greece had always brought them closer together — from their first trip with Lise’s sisters to the magical moment of their engagement. Now, they get to share this special country with all their favorite people as they celebrate their wedding day.
